dc.description.abstractIn recent times, the right of women to succession to the chieftainship has become a center of discussions in various platforms in Lesotho. There is evidence that it was not completely ignored. Lesotho had gone through three (3) phases in which rights of women in general, not only the right to succession to the chieftainship was under scrutiny. The history is traced as far as the pre-colonial era, during the colonial era and the post-colonial era as reflected below.en
